Hi there, 2 of my ratties have very bad respiratory problems that Baytril alone is just not shifting.

I have had success with Doxycycline in the past and so I just got some more from the vets. The brand they get me is Ornicure which is powdered in a sachet. However, I am a bit unsure of the dosing they gave me, I feel like it was different last time, but it was a few years ago so I can't really remember.

These are the instructions.

Mix 4g of Doxycycline with 10ml of water and give 0.8ml to each rat daily.

Does that sound right?

Also, an other tips or any other medicine that people would recommend as being more successful as Doxy? My friend mentioned something called pregnacare or something like that but I have not been able to find any info on it so am unsure about it.

Thanks so much for your help, very much appreciated.

Just to respond, although I'm sorry that I can't be of much help as I've not had a rat prescribed Doxycycline. I hope someone else can advice.
